X.com Domain to Become App Seller

Single letter .COM domains are like gold dust on the Internet as only three were registered before a ban was implemented to stop people getting their hands on them. As a result, the only three that are in the public domain are z.com (registered to Nissan), Q.com (registered to Qwest communications) and x.com which is currently owned by PayPal.

The domain x.com has for a long time been unused, but this month it has been revealed that PayPal and eBay are joining forces to use the domain as a place where developers can sell applications on the web.

EBay is well known for being the biggest sales site on the web; a place where you can buy and sell new and used items. People set up shops on the site to peddle their wares, and the main method of payment is financial site PayPal. PayPal is the most widely used payment aggregator on the web, meaning that your transactions are safer and more secure that other methods of payment. The focus is on the buyer and it’s a great transaction aggregator.

The site offers developers a package to start their business, along with forum support and merchant pricing to help businesses to connect to other merchants. They predict that their solutions will give a much easier way to market and sell products. As a domain reseller you cannot offer your customers single letter .COM domains, but you can integrate .COMs into your storefront to give your users the chance to register their preferred domain names.
