Sedo have just released their latest study detailing activity in the domain name aftermarket over the last 4 months.
Instead of their normal PDF format, the report for Q2 2013 is presented as an Infographic.
There are a huge amount of figures included in the report. Here are some of the most important to resellers:
• There were 9,589 transactions in the Sedo marketplace in Q2 2013. This highlights the interest in domains and the possibilities for you and your customers in the domain aftermarket.
• The median price across all sales was $551. Clearly there is value in the market when you consider the registration cost of many domains and the value derived from using a premium domain name in the long term.
• In terms of Top Level Domains, .COM is still hugely dominant, accounting for 53% of sales. However, .CO made significant inroads to enter the top 10. A clear sign that .CO is a TLD which is here to stay!
• There were Sedo buyers from over 160 different countries, highlighting the truly global interest in domain names.
If you or your clients have premium domains that they want to list, you simply have to use your Admin Portal to list the relevant domain at both Sedo and Afternic. The domain will also be listed at hundreds of other locations through both companies’ networks. This gives you much higher visibility when attempting to sell your domains!
